Translate a drawing into German, without touching the dimensions
If you work with clients or manufacturers in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, sooner or later you need to deliver the drawing in German. The problem is not the language: it is that a normal translator rewrites your dimensions and part codes along with the notes. CADlingua translates only the descriptive text of the DXF/DWG into German and leaves Ø50, R5, the tolerances and the codes exactly as they were — and returns it in the same format, ready for SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Why technical German is especially delicate
Technical German is compact and builds long compound words (e.g. "Senkschraube", "Passung"), and manufacturing terminology is highly specific: a mistranslated note changes the meaning of a machining instruction. On top of that comes the risk of any generic translator: treating "Ø50" or a code like "BAA-0246" as if it were text to translate. The result is drawings with altered measurements and codes the German workshop cannot recognise. To deliver to a DACH client you need the prose in correct German AND the geometry untouched — both at once, not one at the expense of the other.
How CADlingua does it
You upload the drawing in DXF or DWG and choose German as the target language. CADlingua separates translatable prose from geometry entities, translates only the former with DeepL and your company glossary, and rewrites the file leaving dimensions, tolerances, symbols (Ø, °, ±) and part codes intact. You get it back in the same CAD format. You can set your own German terminology per company — the terms your DACH client expects — and the proper nouns that must not be translated. The engine is validated against 7 real production drawings and also supports every other language, Latin and non-Latin.
