Common Questions

Is there any quality loss when trimming?

No. We use FFmpeg's stream copy mode which extracts the segment without re-encoding. Your trimmed video has exactly the same quality as the original.

Why might the start/end be slightly off?

Video files have keyframes at specific intervals. When using stream copy (no re-encoding), cuts must happen at keyframe boundaries. The actual cut point may be within 1-2 seconds of your specified time.

What video formats are supported?

Most common formats work including MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, and MKV. The output maintains the same format as your input to preserve quality.

Can I make multiple cuts from one video?

Currently, each trim operation produces one clip. To extract multiple segments, repeat the process for each section you need.

Is there a maximum video length?

No length limit, but very long videos (2+ hours) may take longer to process. The tool works with any duration your device can handle.
