Common Questions

What audio formats are supported?

Input supports MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, and most common audio formats. Export options are MP3 (compressed, smaller file size) or WAV (lossless, larger file size).

How do I select a region to trim?

Click and drag on the waveform to select a region. White handles appear at selection edges - drag these to fine-tune. You can also drag the selection region itself to move it.

What do the fade in and fade out controls do?

Fade in gradually increases volume from silence at the start of your selection. Fade out gradually decreases volume to silence at the end. This creates smooth, professional transitions.

Should I export as MP3 or WAV?

Choose MP3 for smaller file size (good for sharing, podcasts). Choose WAV for lossless quality (good for further editing, music production). MP3 is typically 10x smaller than WAV.

Is there a file size limit?

No hard limit, but very large files (100MB+) may take longer to analyze and process. Performance depends on your device's capabilities since all processing happens locally.

Can I use the playback controls during editing?

Yes! Use Play to hear from the current position, or Play Selection to preview just your selected region. The red playhead shows current position on the waveform.
